Science of Mind #3

I Enter into the Gladness of Living

Who would not be a child again? Who would not again have the simple faith and childlike trust that somehow or other we seem to lose on the pathway of human experience? Things crowd in on us until we lose some of the greatest of all gifts – the simple, spontaneous joy of living and a trust in the Power of good, which alone is able, ready, and willing to meet all our needs. Let us, then, again return to the place of assurance that comes with the simplicity of faith.

I now release the multitude of doubts and fears that crowd into my mind, and I become quiet so that the Divine miracle may take place in my life. I let every good I possess become multiplied as Divine Love acts upon my faith to bring into my experience everything necessary to my well-being. I know that the Divine Good includes all things that are necessary: food and shelter, love and friendship, and the accomplishment of every right purpose.

And so my faith, the faith of the little child in me, rises with expectancy to meet this new day in joy and to accept the bounty of heaven. With the faith of a little child I place my human hand in the invisible hand of the all-sustaining Good, and I let the miracle of Life and Love take place. I break my bread with thanks and distribute such good as I have to everyone I meet. I say of my own household and the households of all others: God bless the four corners of this house, and be the lintel blest, and bless the bed and bless the board, and bless each place of rest.  And bless the door that opens wide to stranger as to kin, and bless each crystal windowpane that lets the sunlight in.

Rosicrucian Reflections #25

“As long as we continue to ignore our divine side and the Divine Wisdom and highly specialized faculties and abilities we have, as long as we refuse to use them or exercise them, we will remain in all of our mental and worldly affairs, nothing more than creatures of the animal kingdom. Religions say we should put our faith in God, but as Rosicrucians, we say that we should put our faith in the Divine Consciousness, the Divine Wisdom and the Divine Powers that we all possess and which reside within each of us and remain more or less undeveloped in all human beings.”

Rosicrucian Reflections #14

“How should a mystic conduct oneself in everyday life? This question is both simple and complex. Being a mystic is to be aware of and shoulder one’s responsibilities in one’s family life, working life, and spiritual life. A thinking, active, responsible mystic does not feed on what is negative and unhealthy. A mystic does not make hasty judgements, and does not condemn without having tried to understand the why and the how of things and events. The mystics attitude is an open one, respecting everyone’s right to be different and to exercise freedom of expression. A mystic is able to give assistance, bring calm, and speak in a compassionate manner to whoever is in need. A mystic accepts philosophically – without becoming disenchanted – the tests that are experienced during one’s life: for a mystic is not exempt from lessons, we just find it a little bit easier to learn them.”

Spiritual Treatments #20

These treatments are from Ernest Holmes’ book ’34 Spiritual Treatments’. Use them as prayer or affirmation. If used as prayer, feel the words as originating from your heart and going to that place inside you that God resides. If used as affirmation, pay close attention to the words and truly believe what you are reading. If you don’t believe in god, substitute the word God for anything you choose and tweak the words to make them work for you.

My Knowledge Of God Is Great

“I can know him who created me. He has planted His Mind within me, and I now discover my own real self. God in me reveals Himself to me.  His peace is now understood by me, and all in-harmony drops away. I am certain of the Divine Order that was prepared for me by His Wisdom. This Order operates in all my affairs today, and my mind is at peace. As I think of the immensity of God, my whole consciousness expands. The unlimited Ideas of the Infinite Mind are mine to discover and use. I know Him who sent me, and I act as His representative on earth. I give His truth to all I meet, and I accept only His Love from those I know. My knowledge of the Truth is growing daily, and my application of the Truth is definite and strong. I never waiver from the right use of my mind. I think Truth, act Truth and bring forth demonstrations of Truth. Today, this is true.”

Rosicrucian Reflections #13

“The time has come when merely reading about the mystical life has lost its value. We must become involved and dedicate our lives to some useful purpose or the opportunities of a cycle will pass us by. Whatever our goal in life, whatever our desires for achievement might be, the mystical life can make these possible. Living in harmony with the cosmic reveals talents and abilities we little realized we possessed, We find that our minds and consciousness are uplifted and charged with a power and desire to succeed in all we do, and our hearts and total beings will be filled with a spiritual love for all humanity. Our thinking will be broader and our sympathies and feeling of compassion will grow stronger. Life will bring greater joys and happiness and we will sense a divine purpose for our mission in life which will bring the greatest gift of all.”

Selections From The World’s Great Wisdom Traditions #2 Voices Of The First World

The True Peace

“The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.”

Rosicrucian Reflections #12

“As mystics we do everything we can to cultivate and maintain four primary virtues, and thus warrant being called a mystic: understanding, service, compassion and love. These virtues all flow into one another, and end up merging into a perfect unity and forming one entity, thus moving us closer to the “Rose-Croix” state. But the road is long, and the ascent an arduous one, with its tests like so many stones on the path. Willpower, perseverance, and trust are three further virtues that need to be manifested if we wish to achieve our spiritual elevation. We can do this together under the aegis of the sacred symbol of the Rose-Cross, and thanks to all the experiences – pleasant and unpleasant – that we have already lived through, and will continue to live through. This choice is ours, for we have our free will.”

“The truth is more complex than it seems and a good heart has more impact than anyone with a thousand words or actions.”

-Robin Sacredfire

Rosicrucianism is a spiritual and cultural movement that started in Europe in the early 17th century. They study and practice the metaphysical laws governing the universe, some of their studies include: The mysteries of birth and death, the illusory nature of time and space, the creative power of visualization, the influence of thoughts on health, the development of intuition and much more.

I’d like to share some of their wisdom in a series titled ‘Rosicrucian Reflections’. I hope you enjoy and can use these gems of knowledge as they’ve been very helpful to me on my quest.

“The first step is to control and order our thinking. Too many of our failures yesterday were self-created by our own negative thinking. Sooner or later we are going to have to realize and accept that fact. The unhappy consequences of our own negative thinking are going to be presented in our lives repeatedly until we finally realize that we are punishing ourselves. Then we will begin to think positively always and our lives will begin to change. This is nature’s way of teaching. It is simply a matter of will to control our thinking. It is just as easy to think that we shall succeed as to think that we shall fail. It is no more difficult to think that we will feel better than to think that we shall decline and feel worse. We need simply to decide whether to expect happiness and good things today, or unhappiness and disappointing experiences. Remember, we create, whether we like it or not!”

Divine Intelligence In Action

“I now let the Divine Intelligence guide and direct me. I let the Light within flow through me. Divine Mind makes no mistakes, impels, propels, and compels me into my right place and into right action. No thought pattern of the past has any power to obstruct right action. No belief of limitation can bind me. I am free – always about the Father’s business. Always in my right place – governed by Divine Intelligence and Wisdom. Every thought, every impulse, and every feeling is a manifestation of this Christ Mind within me. It is the mind of health, strength, vitality, and love. Therefore, I manifest and glorify the Father within. It is the mind of beauty – eternal youth conscious of its own divinity and its infinite power. I am that right now; and so I let good, the great law of Mind operate upon my word, bringing it into perfect manifestation. I thank thee Father, that it is so right now.”

Daily Meditation #8

These meditations are excerpts from ‘Science Of Mind’ by Ernest Holmes, published in 1926.

“Become quiet and composed. The body should be relaxed but the mentality should be active. Then, carefully read the meditation several times, phrase by phrase, endeavoring to realize the meaning of the words and trying to enter into the atmosphere of thought. After having done this, meditate upon the words, following the meditation until you feel a sense of realization.”

The Circle Is Complete.

The universal circle of love is complete. It comprehends all, includes all, and binds all together with cords of everlasting unity. I cannot depart from its presence or wander from its care. Divine love is complete within me. The love of God binds me to itself and will not let me go. Divine love lives within my heart, and journeys through life with me eternally. I sit in the presence of eternal love and learn the wondrous things it tells me, for it is God. Love sits within me.
