Don’t Just…

Don’t just learn, experience.

Don’t just read, absorb.

Don’t just change, transform.

Don’t just relate, advocate.

Don’t just promise, prove.

Don’t just criticize, encourage.

Don’t just think, ponder.

Don’t just take, give.

Don’t just see, feel.

Don’t just dream, do.

Don’t just hear, listen.

Don’t just talk, act.

Don’t just tell, show.

Don’t just exist, live.

Rosicrucian Reflections #14

“How should a mystic conduct oneself in everyday life? This question is both simple and complex. Being a mystic is to be aware of and shoulder one’s responsibilities in one’s family life, working life, and spiritual life. A thinking, active, responsible mystic does not feed on what is negative and unhealthy. A mystic does not make hasty judgements, and does not condemn without having tried to understand the why and the how of things and events. The mystics attitude is an open one, respecting everyone’s right to be different and to exercise freedom of expression. A mystic is able to give assistance, bring calm, and speak in a compassionate manner to whoever is in need. A mystic accepts philosophically – without becoming disenchanted – the tests that are experienced during one’s life: for a mystic is not exempt from lessons, we just find it a little bit easier to learn them.”

Words To Live By #7 ‘If’ For Girls

Quaerite Et Invenietis  “Seek and you will find”

“Your vibe attracts your tribe”

I posted the poem ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling on October 15, 2019. I think it is a wonderful poem. Written for his son in 1895, it offers great advice that can be used by anyone.

I came across ‘If For Girls’, a complimentary poem for Kipling’s ‘If’, by American writer J. P. McEvoy. This is a wonderful addition to this series of blogs, especially in todays world where women are becoming more empowered than ever; and it’s about time! Women and men can use this advice, so let’s celebrate the Divine Feminine.

Dedicated to my mother Sylvia Patricia, and my love, Erin.

“If you can hear the whispering about you

And never yield to deal in whispers, too;

If you can bravely smile when loved ones doubt you

And never doubt, in turn, what loved ones do;

If you can keep a sweet and gentle spirit

In spite of fame or fortune, rank or place,

And though you win your goal or only near it,

Can win with poise or lose with equal grace;

If you can meet with Unbelief, believing,

And hallow in your heart, a simple creed,

If you can meet Deception, undeceiving,

And learn to look to God for all you need;

If you can be what girls should be to mothers:

Chums in joy and comrades in distress,

And be unto others as you’d have the others

Be unto you — no more, and yet no less;

If you can keep within your heart the power

To say that firm, unconquerable “No,”

If you can brave a present shadowed hour

Rather than to build a future woe;

If you can love, yet not let loving master,

But keep yourself within you own self’s clasp,

And not let dreaming lead you to disaster

Nor Pity’s fascination loose you grasp;

If you can lock your heart on confidences

Nor ever needlessly in turn confide;

If you can put behind you all pretenses

Of mock humility or foolish pride;

If you can keep the simple, homely virtue

Of walking right with God — then have no fear

That anything in all the world can hurt you —

And — which is more — you’ll be a Woman dear.”

May you always be

My Contribution to Peace

Quaerite Et Invenietis  “Seek and you will find”

I contribute to Peace when I strive to express the best of myself in my contacts with others.

I contribute to Peace when I use my intelligence and my abilities to serve the Good.

I contribute to Peace when I feel compassion toward all those who suffer.

I contribute to Peace when I rejoice over the happiness of others and pray for their well -being.

I contribute to Peace when I listen with tolerance to opinions that differ from mine or even oppose them.

I contribute to Peace when I resort to dialog rather than to force to settle any conflict.

I contribute to Peace when I respect Nature and preserve it for generations to come.

I contribute to Peace when I do not seek to impose my conception of God upon others.

I contribute to Peace when I make Peace the foundation of my ideals and philosophy.

I contribute to Peace when I look upon all as my Brothers and Sisters, regardless of race, culture, or religion.

Spiritual Treatments #6

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies, were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of star stuff.”

-Carl Sagan

From the book ’34 Spiritual Treatments’ by Ernest Holmes, use these treatments as prayer or affirmation:

“His Mind has determined my ways, and I walk them in harmony and love. The Devine cannot conceive confusion, and I shall have none this day. I let God’s Idea of me direct me. I use His law for good alone. I am certain of success, for I let Divinity operate as me. The Law of Mind is my refuge. I think into It what I want, and It brings to pass the desires of my heart. God wants me to have the good I seek. His whole Being is mine to distribute into form. I know this and glorify God through my right thinking. The Peace of God is mine. I let it infiltrate my whole subconscious and bring healing to me. I let go of my human will and accept the Good which God has for me. This Good is greater than I have ever visualized. I rejoice in Its wonder and use It with authority. My peace is established and no power can disturb it.”

Spiritual Treatments #5

Quaerite Et Invenietis – “Seek and you will find.”

“We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.”

-Oswald Chambers

I recently downloaded a book on my Kindle titled “34 Spiritual Treatments” by Ernest Holmes, a teacher, writer, and the spiritual leader of the New Thought Movement. These 34 treatments are like prayers or affirmations. I’d like to share them as I’ve found them to be very powerful. So once or twice a week I’ll post one of them.

“I believe that I am the son/daughter of God and heir to all the father hath. As I let my inner self see things in their entirety and in their right relation, I know that the spirit of life and power is back of all that is visible in this world. To the degree that I open myself to the Devine inflow, do I become like God. Today, I let my thinking be affirmative and constructive; I let my mental pictures be bright and full of good cheer. Today, I partake of the life of God and feel the essence of that Life expressing Itself in and through me. Today, I reject all limitation and disease, and act in accordance with my belief. I acknowledge the order and beauty of God’s creation and act in cooperation with all this beauty. What is true of God, is also true of me. I am never separated from the source of All-Good.”

Spiritual Treatments #4

“We are Earth people on a spiritual journey to the stars. Our quest, our Earth walk, is to look within, to know who we are, to see that we are connected to all things, that there is no separation, only in the mind.”

-Lakota Seer

Use these treatments as prayers or affirmations. If used as prayer, feel the words as originating from your heart and going to the place inside you that God resides. If used as an affirmation, pay close attention to the words and truly believe what you are reading. If you don’t believe in God, substitute the word God for anything you choose.

“I am a center in God’s Being. It is the pulse of Life in all there is to me. I awaken in that Life now and express it. As a spiritual being through a human mentality in a physical body. In this world today as the person known by my name. My Faith is simple. My Thought is clear. I am creative. I feel not after what I outgrew as I accept this new state to “be” it. I am in no bondage to person, place or thing, neither are they in bondage to me. I grant freedom, hence I am free. I now claim a specific yet free-er self-expression of God’s Life through me: I now am better than well-off financially for I hoard nothing to deny its use. I stamp no human limits on money because my spending keeps the pulse-beat of God’s wealth alive in me. I have now definitely ceased once and for all, to question “how” “what” comes from “where”. The sun rises without my doing. Surely God provides without my assistance.”

Words To Live By #3

The poem “Our Deepest Fear” by American author, activist and spiritual leader Marianne Williamson is often mistaken as part of Nelson Mandela’s inaugural speech, although it does not appear in the speech at all.

This poem shows how powerful we truly are. Read this poem slowly and let its truth sink in.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness

That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves

Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small

Does not serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking

So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,

As children do.

We were born to make manifest

The glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us;

It’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,

We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we’re liberated from our own fear,

Our presence automatically liberates others.”

Spiritual Treatments #3

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.”

-Roy T Bennett

If used as an affirmation, pay close attention to the words and truly believe what you are reading. If you don’t believe in God, substitute the word God for anything you choose.

“God is all there is. All things are but different expressions of the One Infinite Spirit. The Mind of God created these expressions. The Mind of God created me. I am, therefore, a child of God. Because I am aware of this great truth, I cannot experience pain or suffering. I cannot separate myself from God. Sickness cannot exist because I embrace this realization of my divinity. I affirm now: God is in me as me. The Mind of God in me designed my body. That design is perfect. This Inner Mind built my body and the Inner Physician knows how to keep this body in its designed perfection. I now declare that perfection. In the light of Truth, I see myself as a spiritual being. I see this spiritual being that I am, expressing wealth, wholeness and completion. I exult in the feeling of radiant energy, dynamic vitality and glorious well-being. Gratitude floods my consciousness and I know that it is done.”

Teachings from the Profound Wisdom Traditions.

“Keep always in mind that you are not defined by the things that come easily to you, but rather by those things that challenge you.”    -From the writings of M G Hawking

M G Hawking, traveler, adventurer, and writer spent many months in a secluded Himalayan village studying with Masters of the Profound Wisdom Traditions. He returned with valuable information indeed.

From his writings:

“An examination of your present experience of life will tell you much about the state of your inner mind, of your beliefs, intentions, and expectations. Your thoughts and inner images, carefully studied, will let you see where you are going. They point clearly to the nature of the physical events you will experience in what you call the future. What exists physically exists first in thoughts, images, and feelings.”
