Meditation
The seed within the earth
Lies alone, awaiting.
It knows not loneliness,
But strength of purpose.
Throughout the year
I have known loneliness in crowds,
But aloneness is quite different.
I must pass through the gate
To the inner temple
Alone.
The Blessing
My inner wellspring bubbles over,
And the more I share
The more I have.
Help me
To be of valued service,
Yet not attached
to being a server.
For the tools of service
Are compassion and humility,
And these are born in a loving heart,
Which is open enough to take
As well as give.
From you I receive,
To you I give,
Together we share,
From this we live.
