I Am Not Alone

I am not alone, for a presence goes with me and daily accompanies me on my travels. Always I find this divine companion with me. It will not desert or allow me to go alone. It will always be with me and near me, and will always provide for every want. My life is his with Christ in God.

Devine Circulation Is Established In My Life, Activities, Business. 

“Devine Circulation is established in my life: there is a constant flow of income and outgo, a constant circulation of good. The income is always greater than the outgo because Substance is always greater than the form it takes. I am a spiritual being. Thus I am one with Infinite Substance. I receive this Divine Substance as Income – the inflow of all goodness, joy, vitality, intelligence, creative activity, supply, power, love, etc. I recognize that my Source is One – no matter how many and varied the channels of its manifestation. My services, activities, business all express or give form to Substance, manifesting the One in the many. My petals spread upward to the sun,

My roots dig deeply in the earth.

Outward streams my love

To touch all life,

Inward streams the love

Life shares with me.

Let me open fully to it all,

For love and life and growth come in many colors

And sing many different songs.

 

The Blessing.

The season’s work comes clear to me,

Amidst my outward growth.

To love it all,

The bitter and the sweet,

For each is drawn to me,

Bringing lessons

To aid my journey home.

How blessed is the student,

How wise the teacher.

Hope Cannot Die

“Hope cannot die. Eternal hope is forever warm and fresh within me; the deathless hope built upon the rock of sure knowledge. Hope sublime, life supreme, behold I come to the source as a tired child, and it rekindles within me the fires of faith. Strong, swift and sure, faith springs forth into action and my entire being rises to meet the dawn. Hope, faith and love are in me.

These treatments are from Ernest Holmes’ book ’34 Spiritual Treatments. Use them as prayer or affirmation. If used as prayer, feel the words as originating from your heart and going to that place inside you that God resides. If used as affirmation, pay close attention to the words and truly believe what you are reading. If you don’t believe in God, substitute the word God for anything you choose, and tweak the words to make them work for you.

 

No Problem Defeats Me

“God is Omnipotent Power in me. It creates through me the New for me. My thanks accept the New now and change it for the old this day. Now fills God my reasoning, assuming, concluding and believing through which streams, as power, the Right Action of God. My mind is renewed. My soul is restored. My faith rejoices. Is God not all-powerful in me? Where else could I taste the Lord? I am now in a totally fearless state of mind. Neither change nor problem rob my peace. This is simply so because I have ceased looking for help and solution outside of myself. I turn within and let God’s Mind reveal what is already known to It beforehand. I accept that revelation now as having, this instant, testified of Itself in me. And surely: As the light of day was already coming while I yet slept in darkness – even so is my deliverance at hand.”

Monks, what is the noble truth about suffering?

Birth is suffering, old age is suffering, death is suffering, grief, lamentation, discomfort, unhappiness and despair are suffering; to wish for something and not obtain it is suffering; briefly, the five factors of attachment are suffering.

 

Monks, what is the noble truth about the origin of suffering?

Just this craving, leading to rebirth, accompanied by pleasure and emotion, and finding satisfaction now here now there, namely, the craving for sense-pleasure, the craving for new life and the craving for annihilation.

 

Monks, what is the noble truth about the cessation of suffering?

Just the complete indifference to and cessation of that very craving, the abandoning of it, the rejection of it, the freedom from it, the aversion toward it.

 

Monks, what is the noble truth about the way that goes into the cessation of suffering?

Just this noble eightfold way, namely, right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.

Being a mystic is to be aware of and shoulder one’s responsibilities in one’s family life, working life, and spiritual life. A thinking, active, responsible mystic does not feed on what is negative and unhealthy. A mystic does not make hasty judgements, and does not condemn without having tried to understand the why and the how of things and events. The mystics attitude is an open one, respecting everyone’s right to be different and to exercise freedom of expression. A mystic is able to give assistance, bring calm, and speak in a compassionate manner to whoever is in need. A mystic accepts philosophically – without becoming disenchanted – the tests that are experienced during one’s life: for a mystic is not exempt from lessons, we just find it a little bit easier to learn them.”

Meditation

About me flow the waters of nourishment;

Within me flows the water of nourishment.

My bloodstream is aglow with the impulse of life

As I challenge the dark places in my being,

As I expand beyond the security of the womb,

As I move past my own definitions.

And surrounding this, engulfing me,

Is the cosmic ocean of Love and Light

From whence I truly came.

 

The Blessing

I pause to honor

The overlighting stream of wisdom

That guides each living thing on its journey home.

That journey is my journey;

That home is my home;

And that wisdom is as alive in me

As it is in the highest of beings.
