Each life upon this earthly plane
Knows beginning and knows ending.
Each turn of the yearly wheel as well
Brings birth and death.
Each breath I take reminds me, too,
That I must die each moment
So as to bring a blessed newness
To the next breath that I take.
For if each outbreath ends in death,
Each inbreath sees me born anew,
And present to that moment.
The Blessing
Throughout the flow of passing seasons,
You have shared your Light with me.
No middle-person have I required
to walk the path with you.
For in my heart
You dwell forever,
Not in some mansion high,
And the blessings that you give to me
Come from deep inside.
