Why our thoughts matter. Part One

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

-Albert Einstein

Thoughts matter. This is why we must be very careful with them, they can create or destroy.  We can create a beautiful life with the right thought patterns, but we can create disease within the body with the wrong patterns. The health of our bodies has more to do with our thinking than with our DNA. Yes, our minds are powerful – think placebo effect, where we actually feel better after taking a placebo, basically false medicine – because we think  we should feel better.

Tibetan Buddhists practicing Tummo can cause their bodies to sweat while meditating at temperatures below freezing, this is caused by chemical reactions between neurons.

Research done by Dr. Joe Dispenza shows that every time we learn something new hundreds of thousands of our neurons change, and that affects our physical bodies. Dr. Dispenza is known for his theory of the connection between matter and mind. His research revealed how consciousness creates synaptic connections using strong concentration, so, with each emotional experience, sensation, or vision, you create a new connection between two of more than 100,000 million brain cells. If you use these sensations, visions, or emotions regularly, you reinforce and strengthen these connections. Dr. Dispenza says that the brain cannot distinguish between a physical sensation and an emotional experience, so, if we are always thinking negative thoughts, our brains can be deceived and bring dis-ease to the body.

Science has proven that positive thoughts increase energy, while negative thoughts drain energy. The mind and body are connected, research shows that 75% to 98% of physical, mental, and behavioral illness comes from our thought patterns.

In physics, there is a theory that states that all matter vibrates and also has a wave component.  If all matter vibrates, including ourselves, this shows that everything is connected. This would mean that our thoughts are connected, and that means – drum roll please – collective consciousness!

We know that matter contains a lot of energy, so it takes a lot of sustained thought to turn energy into physical form.  Think of the book “Think and Grow Rich” where you should “Keep at it” and “Keep going after your goals”. Thoughts do create reality, if we can bring enough concentration and belief or faith.

The Universe is infinite potential, but how does infinite potential become the actualities of reality, seeming to come into existence out of nothing? This is the Probability Factor of Uncertainty Principle, which we will look at more closely in part two of this blog, but basically, everything that exists is the result of energetic waves of potential becoming reality, the infinite source becoming these expressions of reality within itself, energetic expressions manifesting as different frequencies of vibration.

Huh? Pretty deep, I know. Let’s call on Albert Einstein to help out: “Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.”

This is a lot to take in. I’ll go more into the science of it all in part two of this blog. For now just remember: “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.”     -J M Barrie   Peter and Wendy
